C02
HAS A DIRECT AFFECT ON CROP YIELD
C02
can
be a limiting factor in photosynthesis and
crop yield. On
a hot summer day the level of C02
in the air is around
0.03 to 0.04%. Generally, photosynthesizing plants, under full
sunlight, require 30 times that level (0.9 to 1.2 %). The simple fact
is, inadequate C02 is a limiting factor in photosynthesis
and crop yield.
Carbon
is derived from decaying (NOT ROTTING) organic matter. Accordingly,
healthy soil with high populations of SBOs together with high levels
of organic matter can provide a significantly higher level of C02
than
that of compacted, synthetic fertilized soil.
